Eating prunes by herself, the video

Here's a little video of the self feeder in action.

Not only did she enjoy feeding herself, it made a terrific mess. She loves to get whatever she's eating in her hair. Fortunately she enjoys the bath. Hates getting her hair washed, though.

A little trumpet

This morning at breakfast David passed a little gas and said with a sheepish grin, "It was my trumpet." That just cracked me up and I was trying to tell him that it wasn't funny, but I was laughing too much.

Tonight as the kids were getting ready for bed Becca was reading books to David in his bed. When the time actually came to climb in bed David asked if Becca could sleep in his bed. I told him no and then asked him why he said, "it is just so comfy with her in my bed." He is such a cuddle bug!

French braids and self feedings

Emma is really into feeding herself. She makes a HUGE mess, but loves it. It usually ends up all over her face and then into her hair.

I have a confession to make, last Sunday was the first french braid that I have ever attempted. Here it is.

I love to see the temple

Today we went to see the beautiful flowers at the temple. We had a great time! I wanted to take Sarah to Music and the Spoken Word, but Aaron had a meeting. We will go some other time. I wanted to see the tulips before their time was up.

Amazing

Last night I went to a YW meeting and it was just amazing. I don't know if it was just exactly what I needed to hear or it touched me more than others but I left that meeting feeling like it was the best meeting I had ever been to. (gauged by the tear flow -- seriously I could not stop crying!)

I think the thing that touched me the most was a sweet YW (about 14) that was there with her mom and little sister and she read a poem about the girl she was in the past, the young woman she is now and the woman she will one day be. I couldn't help thinking that Sarah is the girl growing in the the young woman, me as a young woman wanting so badly to be like my mom one day and then coming to the realization that I AM THE MOM. I know I have a 9 year old, but I still feel like I am the young woman trying to be like my mom. See I am tearing up just thinking about it with Emma laughing at me. My mom is so amazing in so many ways and did such a great job in raising 7 children! Mom, I just got a HUGE feeling of love and appreciation for you! I was going to call you but I was balling like a baby last night and even thinking about it today I am tearing up. So to spare you the tears and blubbering you can read it on my blog how much I love and appreciate you and how amazing I think you are!

Also, for any one who is in the YW presidency I got probably the most valuable tool I have ever had! The 2nd counselor gave us CDs with hymns, children songs and YW songs that go along with each lesson. If you are in the YW in your ward and want a copy really it is amazing!!!

Spring Break

We have had a great spring break. Here is a little proof...

the first sunburn. Oh, I felt so bad that she got so sunburned! That first sun always sneaks up on me! This week we went
to the dinosaur museum and watched a live reptile show
a glass blowing show and exhibit
swimming
3 parks
the zoo
the library (twice)
a little lake (where Emma got so sunburned and the kids spent hours making fishing poles with sticks and fishing strings they found) we also rode bikes and scooters around the lake
Tomorrow we are planning on going to the Thanksgiving Point farm and garden.

toothless

Becca has had three REALLY loose teeth for awhile. I teased her that she looked like the firefly from Princess and the Frog because her teeth were sticking out in all the wrong directions. Tonight I said, "Okay Bec, we have GOT to get these teeth out. She wanted to do it herself but they were hanging on for dear life. Aaron finally pulled all three of them. The big teeth are already growing in.

Happy Easter!

Easter is one of my favorite hollidays! I usually don't serve ham because I really don't care much for ham, but this year I was out voted.

I love that general conference was this weekend. I can't think of a better time for it. We had such a great time (other than a little sickness on Becca's part)
And yes that is snow!
