Family Reunion

A few favorite pictures from a FABULOUS week spent with family!

Ok, now I can tell of all the fun things we did with my niece Emily...

unfortunately I only took pictures on day 1 and 2!  We had a jello fight, played at Noah's Arc, the sprinkler park in Highland, went to Brave, went to 7 Peaks in SL, all in all we had a GREAT week!

I forgot about of trip to Manti.  We went to watch the pageant.  We camped up the canyon. It was a great spot, except right behind the kids there was a beaver pond and I heard the beaver working on his dam all night and I kept dreaming that our tent was going to float into  the pond...

Off to AZ

My grandma, Zena Hunt, hasn't been doing too well.  She has cancer that is just eating her up.  She is on some pretty high doses of pain medicine so at times she forgets things, but it was still great to see her!  I have so many wonderful memories with her!  We had a great time with my parents and my sister and her family.  We watched the fireworks in Heber where we saw a great show.  After the wonderful week we brought my niece Emily home with us and left David in AZ with my sister.

Girls Camp

Oh, one of my FAVORITE things about being in young women...girls camp!  I loved every minute of it.  It was amazing, mostly because of the wonderful young women I have and the leaders I served with!  There were so many miracles that happened there.  The only thing I really wanted out of camp was for the girls to feel the spirit. The spirit was SO strong at times!  Our glow in the dark scripture hunt, passing the light and watching it grow, the challenge course watching the girls overcome their fears, watching the sun set and singing songs as we hiked back to camp, listening to the devotionals the laurels had prepared, seeking solitude in the woods, and last but not least testimony meeting.  These are only highlights...

Building our play structure

We did it!  After a few months of planning, working and more working we are finally done building our play structure!  After we got a fence we took out all the grass on the side of our house.  Then we tried to level the ground (I say try because we never did get it quite level.)  Then we started building.  Sarah and Aaron did most of the building. I was the one that brought them their tools and wood for the next step.  103 steps later we finished!  I will have to post the finished product later (I haven't taken final pictures :)

Hope of America

Sarah had the opportunity of singing with thousands of other fifth graders from the state at the BYU Marriott center.  She sang quite a few songs, it was very impressive!  One of her favorite songs they turned out all the lights and they waved flashlights. 

Discovering new parks...

We discovered a new park a few months ago. The park had a 2 story climbing structure and the kids had a blast! 

Happy 9th Birthday Becca!  For Becca's birthday she wanted a penguin party.  We had a penguin cake and we played a few games and then we went ice skating.  We played spin the nail polish bottle.  When you spin the bottle who ever the color lands on you roll a dice and how ever many numbers are on the dice you paint that many nails, the person with 10 nails painted gets to choose the nail polish they want.  We also played a game with a grab bag with many different acceceries and if you roll an odd number you choose something to put on, if you roll an even number you pass the bag, the person with the least amount of things on wins.  

Becca and her friends were naturals at ice skating (well, after they got used to it :)  Emma did NOT want to go on the ice and cried and screamed at the beginning, but by the end of the night she was using the skate aid to skate around the rink.  We had a great time. Becca is a wonderful sister,  she is kind and compassionate.  She is very helpful and cheerful and easy to be around.

 

Where does the time go?  Man, we have been having fun!  I will try to post a few posts to catch up a wee bit...
