week recap
Two trips to the library, occupy Smalley living room, playing outside, aquarium, valentines day
Well all in all I think we did okay last week. On Monday Sarah informed me that if I wasn't playing video games or watching tv I was okay, so I limited my screen time to once a day for a few minutes a day. I let Emma watch 2 movies while I did the treadmill but that was about it. David I think took it the hardest and by Thursday he asked if he could go to his friends house (where screen time is aloud) and didn't come back for a few hours. All in all we did great.

screen fast
so yesterday I was at meetings it felt like all day, I sang in a stake women's choir for stake conference so we had practice yesterday morning, then I had the world wide leadership training Sat afternoon from 3-5 then I had the adult meeting for stake conference (where our ward choir was singing so we had to be there at 6:15) anyway when I left for my 3:00 meeting the kids were all watching dad play the wii (David bought a game for his birthday with his bday money) I REALLY don't like video games, at all. I think there is no point to them. So I get home from my two hour meeting and where are they, all STILL in front of the same game (they did take a laundry break and fold a load of laundry, but still) I was not very happy. I took it out on the kids when really they were just watching dad play so really I was just mad that Aaron wasted all that time blah blah blah.
That night I realized that I can't change Aaron's behaviors, and when I am gone I have to just let him learn how he wants to be a parent and not try to expect him to be the parent I think he should be...
Well, Sarah could feel my attitude even though later I apologized and told her that I was sorry for being so grouchy about screens...
Tonight Sarah said, what if we go all week without any screens, so I am taking the challenge too. Mom, if Celia has her baby call me because I will not be on FB or e-mail. David will be the one that this effects the most. (and my running, Emma usually watches a show while I run, looks like I have to wake up early and actually interact with my little cutie!) David said, a WHOLE week, what about movie night, well let's think of something more fun then movie night...
If you are still reading this you must really love me because I am boring myself...I remembered this weekend how much I love singing. I have told my mom this but only her, when the kids are mostly grown I want to take lessons and try out for the tabernacle choir...I LOVE to sing, I think I was born to sing, I know I am not the best or the most trained but I love it...there you have it, me in 15 years or so...a girl can dream right. Today singing with the women's choir was just invigorating, it touched my soul. that is what singing does for me. Until next week :)

What have I been doing the last few weeks
(other than laundry, dishes, cooking, playing Cinderella, helping Sarah get her science project presentable - although Aaron did mostly that- reading Candy Shop Wars) for some silly reason I couldn't put this before the pictures...The top is a blanket for my sisters new baby, the bottom I made all those cute hats...they are angry birds you can't see the angry eyebrows :)
