This weekend we had SO MUCH FUN camping. We had fun putting the tents up together and then building the fire together and hiking together. David wished the hike was about 45 minutes shorter, but we all had fun anyway.

Milking a cow
We went to the farm and had a great time. We went on a carriage ride, made little bird feeder and then as we were leaving we got to milk a cow! I was going to milk it, but someone stepped on my toe and almost ripped off my nail and it was bleeding like crazy. Becca was the first one in line to milk the cow and Sarah was really reluctant but finally did it. I asked her how it was and she said, kind of weird, cold and wrinkly. Becca said it was easier than the plastic cow and that it was really cool. David would have nothing to do with the real cow. He just wanted to milk the plastic cow. Maybe next time.

California sunshine
We had a WONDERFUL time in California. It was just too short of a time. We had a great time at the beach where Emma had her first taste of salt and sand (I forgot that if I went boogie boarding that my suit traps sand). It was fun seeing all the cousins playing together, they got along really well! I think that a drop of water got on the lens because all the beach pictures have a smudge in the middle!
My favorite line from the whole trip was David. We stopped by the side of the road so David could relieve himself (note to self...capri suns should only be offered when a bathroom is available). He stood on the running board and I told his to pee as far as he could. He spotted a little hole and aimed for it. He said, "I wonder if the beaver is going to come out." We all had a good laugh at that.

Seeing where Dad works
Tonight, I was asked to be at an open house for one of the surgery centers where I operate. They had tours of the different operating rooms and showed people how different surgeries are done. Julie brought the kids to see where Dad did his surgeries and got to learn about how that worked. I think they really liked it, especially getting dressed up in the hats and booties and the refreshment goodies that were provided. They got to see the actual instruments that I use for surgeries and look through the eye microscope at a lens implant. They even had one senator and the mayor of Provo come through. It was great to be able to teach people about eye surgery and how it is done.
One more day until our trip to California!

Lake fun
Last week we went to two different lakes and one lake we went two different days. The first one was FREEZING, up AF canyon and was melted snow! The second one was a nice temp, man made lake in a nice neighborhood, and had some awesome sand. The first day we took some boats out and it was a blast. It made me want to buy a double kayaks.
