Happy graduation to Becca

Today was Becca's graduation from Kindergarten. When I went to Sarah's graduation I cried, but for Becca's I didn't even tear up... She was so cute up there. My kids are getting SO big! Why do they even have kindergarten graduation?? What are they celebrating? You made it through a year where you only go to school for a half a day and you got to eat snacks and have recess. Hum...

Chopping down the trees!

We had two UGLY pine trees in the front yard (not just ugly, they would drop these nasty needles and pine cones)

and we CHOPPED them DOWN!
It was great. Unfortunately the green waste recycle place wasn't open on Memorial Day so my AWESOME neighbor Holly helped me load the branches into a trailer and truck and haul them to the green waste place. Now all we have to do is grind down the stumps and plant new trees (we are thinking flowering plumb).

Today

In the bath...

Me: David, you can get out of the bath after we wash your hair.
David: Moooooooom, boys don't need shampoo.

Going to bed

David: Don't turn the light off, there is a spider.
Me: That is not a spider it is the ceiling fan.
David: No, that is a spider.
Me: Maybe it is a friendly spider.
David: Okay.

Sarah loves to play this song on the piano and whenever I hear it I think of the naughty words that someone taught me to this song. Mom, Amanda or Celia do you remember this song or am I the only one?? Mom, she wanted me to teach her. I told her that I would teach her only if she let me be right and didn't get mad if I told her she was wrong. She said okay. We will see how long this lasts before I get her an actual teacher.

Back yard bonfire

Last night Aaron was supposed to go to Fathers and sons, but couldn't so we had a nice bonfire here in our yard! We borrowed a portable fire pit from our neighbors. I think we ate a whole bag of marshmallows.

Mother's Day highlights

This mothers day was great.  I woke up to breakfast made by Aaron.  The kids gave me presents.

Becca gave me a cook book that her class put together.  It was all recipes according to the kids.  It was really funny to read.  There was also a section that said "what I know about my mother" and Becca said that I was 19 inches tall and weighed 20 lbs. and that my favorite food was limes. I don't know how she got that but it was hard to read with a straight face. She also thought we would be able to make the recipes in the book.  Too cute.

Sarah gave me a coupon book and said that the coupons expire in one week.  HAHA.

Aaron gave me a grill.

Aaron passed the boards!  He called yesterday and told me. I have never seen him SO relieved. It was just a burden lifted.  Now he just has the oral boards next June.

Aunt Flo

Dear Aunt Flo-

I can say that the best thing about pregnancy (except the baby at the end) is that you go away for about 10 months. Well now you are back and you seem to be telling me that you missed me terribly and wish to make my life miserable. I know you are just doing your job, but really.

Until next month, Julie

PS For all those women who don't have an Aunt Flo when nursing - don't tell me about it or I might just be jealous.

Blog title change

I was getting kind of tired of the title. It is summer, time for change. I still love my job, but summer is coming and HERE WE GO!

I want to go shorter with the hair. It is still on my neck. I think I will keep the front basically the same, but the back has to go.

I want a video camera. Does anyone have any suggestions of a good camera that is not that outrageously expensive??

New hair

I just got my anual haircut. My cousin Britney came over and did it. Emma slept the whole time and David watched a movie. My kind of a haircut!

While she was sleeping and my awesome husband

Today I thought I would try this purse. I bought all the materials and Emma was sleeping so I thought I would start. I have had a purse that I snagged from my Mother in Laws goodwill bag and I have had it for about 8 years. It was time for a change.

Here is what my awesome husband built last Saturday. There is another set of these on the other wall as well.
