YIPPEE

We sold our first house! Yesterday we went and signed a few papers and got a nice check (we have never had this much money in the bank...too bad it will be gone in a few months). Her realtor said we should take that check and go to the race trace, we went to Rita's (we got custard/ice) to celebrate instead.

Today I was going through boxes trying to weed things out and realized that a lot of it Aaron is going to have to go through. I thought it was because I was less sentimental, but I am sure my mom has a lot of things at her house waiting for me to discover. I was hoping to just be able to fit it in our cars, but I do think we will get a small trailer.

To plug or not to plug? Aaron and I have both been really leery of plugging in our kids...tv/video games... thinking that they were going to miss out on the whole experience of the country blah blah blah. Well...I think I have talked him into getting a portable DVD player...does anyone know a good brand (i heard the dual ones are great) or the best place to get it? do they come with the car kit, or do you buy that seperate?

New York Trip

We really had a great time in NYC. I just don't see how anyone can live there! On Memorial Day the girls spent the morning playing the wii with their cousins. It was fun to see Molly interact with the girls (she is 9 and was playing with them SO well!) Then in the afternoon we went to Central Park. It was so fun. The kids favorite part was the ice cream at the end.

David and Becca are in the bath and Sarah is in the shower right now...twice in the last two minutes David has come running into the room saying "naked, I naked" with a huge smile on his face. This afternoon I was in the potty when I noticed that I didn't have any toilet paper. David was there (of course) so I asked him to go get me some toilet paper. He runs down the hall and then comes back and says, "be back in a sec" while waving a finger at me. SO FUNNY! He is finally talking more. I was worried for a long time (because the girls were so much more verbal0 but I think he will be okay!

A lot can happen in 15 days!

I FINISHED the sprint triathlon! I felt like I wasn't really ready, but I finished. The water was 59 degrees and I didn't have a wetsuit...yep REALLY cold. I thought I would do great at the swim, but I think I was just happy when it was over. Then the bike was fun. The country was beautiful! I was really tired by the time I got to the "run" so I just kind of plodded to the end. I placed 448th and it took me 2 hours and 10 minutes to finish.







My parents were here last week and we had a blast! We went to Hershey Park and Amish country and New York City - had some great food and had fun playing games.

If my mom was this excited on the lady bug just imagine how excited she was on the thunder lightning racers :)

Five things I thought about blogging

1. David is obsessed with pealing. He loves pealing grapes and crayons (fortunately he doesn't eat the crayons)

2. Can I make it? Yesterday Lauren and I did a practice ride at Mt Gretna. MAN...I really can't ride a bike! The first hill is a killer and then we have to come down it! I don't think I have ever gone that fast before on a bike!

3. Where are we going to live? This is an ever present obsession.

4. Today at the Dr. Becca weighed 37 lbs and David weighed 36 lbs. I chose not to get on the scale! (I like my ice cream too much!)

5. I love the sunshine!

Happy Mother's Day!

I just want to first say what a WONDERFUL mother I have! I love her so much and she has shaped me into what I am today.

Today in church my friend gave a great talk and I just wanted to share a few words from Elder Holland:

"Often the greatest challenge of all for a young mother is simply fatigue. Through these years, mothers go longer on less sleep and give more to others with less personal renewal for themselves than any other group I know at any other time in life. It is not surprising when the shadows under their eyes sometimes vaguely resemble the state of Rhode Island.

It is clear that some of those Rhode-Island - sized shadows come not just from diapers and carpooling but from at least a few sleepless nights spent searching the soul, seeking earnestly for the capacity to raise these children to be what God wants them to be. Moved by that kind of devotion and determination, may I say to mothers collectively, in the name of the Lord, you are magnificent. you are doing terrifically well. The very fact that you have been given such a responsibility is everlasting evidence of the trust your Father in Heaven has in you."

To all my friends who are mothers I think you do a terrific job! I admire a lot of you and strive to be as good of a mother to my children as my mother was to me!

waste not, want not

I don't know why, but I can not see a perfectly good thing go to waste. The other day (trash day) I saw that my neighbor was throwing out a beautiful pink wood kitchen. I thought I will just take this to salvation army or give it away. Man, I know that it is a lot easier just to throw it out, but seriously...

Today our neighborhood was having a yard sale so I put it on the curb with a free sign on it. It was snatched up within a half an hour. Hopefully it will be well used.

Happy birthday Becca!

Becca turned 5 yesterday! Where has the time gone? Her birth was the most traumatic of the three. I had to have an emergency c-section and I thought she had died because they couldn't find the heart beat.

Becca is a spunky, upbeat, cheerful girl. She has her own sense of style (the more colors the more beautiful). the other day she was wearing shorts and her striped socks up to her knees. What a cutie. We just made another pair of bandana pants. I think we will make some for Sarah just using a the 10 inch inseam and having them be capri's.

Cute story about Becca: The other day she was playing at a friends house and said that the dog was eating the grapes. The mom couldn't understand what she was saying because it sounded like gwapes. Then after saying it three times she said, "Oh Andwea, you can't understand me because I can't pwonounce my r's." HAHA. If you have never read the book hooway for wodney rat that is Becca's book about a rat who couldn't pronounce his r's (thanks Erin).

David has been a little fussy about taking naps lately, so today Aaron laid down with him. Aaron had his MP3 player and shared one ear piece with David. when Aaron woke up this is what he saw.

Random funny thing: We have been planning a party for Becca and we were talking about who to invite. I asked what about this person (last time they played they got in a little tiff) she said no, maybe they should just send me my present. HAHA! But she did say that she wanted to invite Avery (her little friend who moved almost a year ago.)

Back to life, back to DIAL UP!

I never thought this day would come, but here we are. I really sound like a snob, but man I was loving the fast life. We have been "sharing" our neighbors Internet (they told us their pass key and wanted us to use it) but now there is interference so we no longer get their connection...hence the dial up. I guess we can live with anything for 2 months right :)

I have decided to just go on faith in July and we will see if there is anything we love. That way we can make a decision together.
