trick or treat

Last night I took the kids around the neighborhood and we had a great time! At the first few houses David kept holding his bucket thinking that the longer he stayed the more candy he would get. I would have to remind him to say thanks and tell him we were moving on. Usually the girls (Becca and two friends) would be at the next house before he would be off the door step. We went to a house that was serving hot chocolate and fresh popped popcorn they had a movie projector playing Charlie Brown Thanksgiving. How fun! The kids were tired by the end of the night but had a fun. Sarah went with 3 of her friends. That was hard to let her go by herself, but she had fun and felt big. They gave up before we did so she has less candy then the little kids, but she is okay with it. They are all really good about sharing their candy.
The picture of Aaron and Sarah is from a Halloween father daughter activity where they won a prize for the best couple.

Happy Birthday to my beautiful 9 year old!

This year she wanted german chocolate cake and good strawberry ice cream like we had at Aunt Megans house (Bryers NOT the cheepo stuff I keep in the freezer). A little about her...

She loves to read, help when she can, cook, please others, take care of Emma, play outside. What I love about her... has a sweet and sensitve nature & strong desire to acomplish good things.

Catching up...

Last week we had fall break and we had a blast! First we went to the scarecrow festival with some friends (lots of bouncy toys, rock wall, trampolines, carnival games...fun for everyone)

On Friday we went to a dairy and pumpkin patch with my sister. The dairy was REALLY stinky, but I was fascinated by the cow carousel. Then at the pumpkin patch David picked a tiny pumpkin, Becca a white pumpkin and Sarah a huge pumpkin.

Then the kids stayed with Amanda and that night Aaron and I went to see our friend in Jekyll and Hyde. I didn't realize how horrible of a story it was. My friend was Jekyll and Hyde. He was amazing!

The next morning the kids were still at Amanda's and Aaron had to work so I made applesauce. I got loads of free apples from freecycle so I went to work. I have about 30 quarts. I have about 15 more I am going to do next week and I am going to dehydrate some probably tomorrow.

Aaron is out of town until Tues so hopefully we survive.

Tomorrow we are going to Chuck E Cheese for Sarah's birthday. I talked Amanda into coming so it won't be too bad...

Oh, David

Tonight when David was saying his prayers he said, "Dear Heavenly Father, Thank you for nothing." and then started to laugh. I couldn't help but giggle. I tried to explain that we have A LOT to be thankful for but he was set on nothing.

He loves to have me smell his breath after he brushes his teeth but he comes up and says, "Smell my bress." (which sounds an awful lot like a woman's body part)

Our friends are really into Star Wars and their 3 year old was talking about Yoda and David said, "Yoda drinks soda." haha. He also uses his life savor.

Pictures, pictures, pictures

We went up the canyon on Saturday to take pictures. My friend Andrea took them. We have 100 to choose from. Aaron's glasses didn't look dark, but in some of the photos they are
:( I still like them though! I haven't cropped them at all, but here they are. Did blogger change the picture layout??

so excited

Tomorrow we are going to get our pictures taken. It is the first time we will have family pictures (other than at family reunions.) My friend Andrea is going to take them. We went up there today to see what the lighting was like and I just got so excited.

Made me smile

I was going through some photos and these just made me smile. The last vacation before school started.
