love bountiful baskets

There is a food coop for fresh fruits and veggies that I participate in called bountiful baskets. Each week I can order a basket for $15 and get 15lbs of fruit and 15lbs of veggies. It is great. A few weeks ago Sarah said, I hope you get brussel sprouts. This week I got kale and she came in and said, YES, kale! WHAT, when does that ever happen. David is my fruit man, he loves it when there is a melon or pineapple and begs me to cut it up from the second I walk in the door. This week I got A LOT of cabbage so I am making cabbage roll casserole for dinner tonight, I have also made chile rellenos it is great expanding our palates.

a bunch of sickos

In the last week David, Becca, Emma and I have been sick, sick and more sick. I think if I cough one more time my chest will come out of my mouth. Emma has some nice goop going on and Becca is just plain miserable. Hopefully we will feel better soon, real soon, like tomorrow!

so proud

This week I had a few proud mom moments. The first was when Becca won the third grade story telling competition and told her story to the entire school. She was GREAT! I think the only reason she didn't win at the school level was it was 15 seconds too short...

Today Sarah competed in battle for the books and came in second place! Her team will compete in divisional in a few weeks. They had 15 books that questions were pulled from. If you knew the answer you gave the book title and author. She was really quite pleased :) It is always fun to see her so happy!

Today when Emma was painting my nails she was on the third coat (of three different colors) and I said, are you done yet, and she said, I sink not. It was cute!

how do I get so behind??

Valentine's Day boxes

It doesn't matter if the tv is on or off, Emma has interesting outfits EVERYDAY

A few science experiments (including but not limited to, elephant toothpaste-pictured above, borax crystals, microwaving ivory soap, homemade lava lamp)

Two trips to the library, occupy Smalley living room, playing outside, aquarium, valentines day

Well all in all I think we did okay last week. On Monday Sarah informed me that if I wasn't playing video games or watching tv I was okay, so I limited my screen time to once a day for a few minutes a day. I let Emma watch 2 movies while I did the treadmill but that was about it. David I think took it the hardest and by Thursday he asked if he could go to his friends house (where screen time is aloud) and didn't come back for a few hours. All in all we did great.
