Happy 9th Birthday Becca!  For Becca's birthday she wanted a penguin party.  We had a penguin cake and we played a few games and then we went ice skating.  We played spin the nail polish bottle.  When you spin the bottle who ever the color lands on you roll a dice and how ever many numbers are on the dice you paint that many nails, the person with 10 nails painted gets to choose the nail polish they want.  We also played a game with a grab bag with many different acceceries and if you roll an odd number you choose something to put on, if you roll an even number you pass the bag, the person with the least amount of things on wins.
Becca and her friends were naturals at ice skating (well, after they got used to it :)  Emma did NOT want to go on the ice and cried and screamed at the beginning, but by the end of the night she was using the skate aid to skate around the rink.  We had a great time. Becca is a wonderful sister,  she is kind and compassionate.  She is very helpful and cheerful and easy to be around.

Where does the time go?  Man, we have been having fun!  I will try to post a few posts to catch up a wee bit...

The long, long week part 5

Last night when we came home we found our beautiful bird dead at the bottom of his cage. The house was just too cold for him. RIP Bert. The girls cried last night and it was hard for them to sleep. This morning there were some more tears. We buried him after school. It has been quite without him.

The long, long week part 4

On Wednesday morning we were at the beach house and my dad called. He told me that my grandpa had passed away in the night. It was a huge blessing. Grandpa's health had been declining and he was just not himself. I love that man so much! I was asked one time what integrity was and I said, "Grandpa Hunt" He was a honest, humble, funny, hardworking man. I loved to pick citrus and crack nuts with him. I loved that he would pay me to do chores around the house so when the ice cream man came I would have money to get something. I remember irrigating and going on a long road trip. He had such good stories and was great at telling them. I loved his words of wisdom my favorite was wherever you go make it better. I am sure he is making Heaven a little better just by being there! I love you grandpa!

The long, long week part 3

Then we went to Legoland. If I were to do it again I am not sure if I would spend all that money on Legoland, and we went for half price...It was cool, really cool, so maybe...

I liked mini land best. They had major cities made out of legos. The details were amazing. The rides had long, long lines, I guess that is what you get when it rains the day before and the day after. Emma wasn't too into it, but she still had a good time. All the other kids LOVED it!

The long, long week part 2

After we had a wonderful Easter dinner with Shauna and her family, Megan and her family and Brian we headed North for Newport Beach. There we played at the beach, swam in the pool and had a wonderful time together. One morning I went running along the beach (we were only 1/4 of a mile from it) and it was just wonderful. Aaron took the kids rollerblading up the path near the ocean and then the next day the girls and I went too. We also were fortunate enough to go and visit Aaron's grandmother. It was a good visit. She it such a pleasant woman I just love her so much! It is hard seeing her get older. She has a hard time remembering things, but she is still wonderful! That day we stopped at a beach and Becca found tons of shells. She loved collecting shells. We were going to boogie board but by the time we made it to the beach it was just too windy and cold. We still had fun though! oh yes, two of the three days there we saw some pods of porpoise. They were amazing to watch. They were so close to the shore and at one time I saw five porpoise all together.

Last week was spring break and boy did we milk it for all it was worth! First we went to Aaron's sister Shauna's house. There we saw all of Aaron's brothers and sisters and most of his nieces and nephews. The kids had a blast playing all through Shauna's yard. I would LOVE to live in that same city, close to the beach, wonderful view and her soil is amazing! I bet she could grow whatever she wants there! We had fun eating junk food and playing games well into the night. It was Aaron's brother Brians birthday so we had fun celebrating it with him.
