Spring break part 2

Thursday my sister called and said that she would watch my kids Friday afternoon and have them sleep over and then bring them home Sat morning if Aaron and I wanted to do something fun so we repainted our kitchen cabinets. (it is amazing how much more I accomplished because I didn't have kids! Thursday I was out in the garage spray painting the hardware and I came in and saw Emma on the counter with the pam spray and the counter was covered and the flooor was covered. She just wanted to be like mommy) This morning I actually went for a walk and read my scriptures as I ate breakfast (when does THAT ever happen!)

I have been wanting to paint the cabinets ever since we moved in. A lot of people liked the way our cabinets looked, but not me. I thought they looked yellow with dirt in the corners. The lady before us didn't do that great of a job "antiquing" them.

We did go to welfare square Thursday and it was amazing to see all that our church does for others. The only thing that was going that day was the bakery and that was fun to see all the workers. The missionaries that were taking us on a tour said that they make 2,000-5,000 loaves of bread every day. Then we toured the cannery and the DI and the dairy. They make the cheese at 4 in the morning so we didn't get to see that.

Here are some before and after pictures, you can't really tell a huge difference but there is one I promise. Also here is the chair in my front room which I think I will pull the colors for the walls.

spring break part 1

It is Wednesday of Spring break and it is just making me SO excited for school to be over! We have had so much fun it will be hard for the kids to go back to school.

Sunday we went to Aaron's uncles house for dinner. It was great to see this aunt and uncle because we have always lived close to them. We had fun just hanging out.

Monday we went to the aquarium and park for a picnic. I love the aquarium because you can go through it quickly but still feel like you saw a lot. The kids love the sting ray touch tank the best. The penguins are a close second.

Tuesday we went to Trafalga in Lehi where we played laser tag, bumper boats, rock climbing, miniature golf and a fun carousel ride for Emma. We took our neighbors along so I had 7 kids. It actually was not bad!

Today we went to the farm at Thanksgiving point, always stinky but a lot of fun. We went to the glass blowing/art museum and then to get kiddie cones. I had never been in the small botanical garden at Thanksgiving Point but it was quite cool.

Tomorrow: a trip to welfare square (my request)

Friday: Trafalga in orem with a picnic in the park

We bought season tickets to trafalga/seven peaks in Jan and have already recouped our money so everything from here on out is a bonus. Sorry some of the pictures are blurry, I just couldn't get it together!

Wherever I go I always have a shadow.

Has it almost been a month!

I have been a very lazy blogger. Emma turned two and is definitely two. She is spunky and independent and knows what she wants. Fortunately she is cute!

create

The kids LOVED sculpture class. We have a local arts center where our neighbor teaches and they want to go to the next class. They loved the pottery wheel even though it was hard.

okay now for the skirt...I MADE IT! After several attempts at sewing and my mom trying to teach me I finally got it! Look how cute it is. We made it with just one panel pattern and we even put in a zipper (we made it in YW)

a little change over

Here is our newest transformation. The majority of the reason we changed the fireplace is it gave NO heat and had no purpose. We love our new one it cranks out the heat! Now for a little color on the wall...

Monkey see, monkey do

I am not sure why Becca decided to plop herself right in the middle of the kitchen to read but she set the timer (she has to read 20 minutes every day) Emma decided to join her.

I don't know why I haven't blogged in a while, maybe it is because we are just living life and it doesn't seem too exciting, but I guess I have to record even things that are not too exciting.

Hum, some exciting things. Sarah and Becca are in the middle of sculpture class. They have 3 more classes. They have loved it and I like that they are getting their creative energy out in a way they haven't done yet. I will post pictures at the end of their class.

We bought passes to a local fun center with mini golf, a rock wall and lazer tag. It has been especially fun!
We now have a treadmill, although I used it a lot at the beginning but kind of got burned out but have resolved to use it more frequently now that we actually have heat in the basement.

One thing that is exciting is we are getting a new fireplace. I have a goal in the spring to repaint my whole house! The fireplace is going to look so good, but I think once we have color on the wall it will look much better!
