mini triathlon

My friend Ruth just did a mine triathlon (15 mile bike, 500 meters swim, 3 mile run). I thought I would LOVE to do it. I have wanted to do it for a long time. So this week I have been motivated to start training because I would like to do it next year (Memorial Day). Monday I started out running. After a mile I started really wheezing and having a hard time...I am REALLY out of shape. It is going to take a little while before I am ready. As the week went by it was a little easier to run so I don't think it will be that hard (although it will be after the bike and the swim...) then today I went for a little bike ride and was DYING! It was so hard going up the hills. I really am going to have to train for this one.

I saw Ruth tonight at a picnic and she said she might do one in August...I don't know if I will be ready quite then, but it might be worth a try. We will see.

good for you Julie-but uh were you running/biking during the last few very humid days? because if you were give yourself a break. I went walking/jogging at 5 am yesterday and came home totally sweaty.
Is it Ruth Dye? did she do the Team in Training one in Mt. Gretna-because I thought about doing that one next spring if they do it(but I gotta get my butt in gear right now and lose like thirty lbs-maybe I should just try for a 10k first.

I would LOVE to try something like this. That would be so great if you could get ready by Aug. I bet you could...

Plus, were you running with two kids in the stroller? That makes a big difference too...

nope running in perfect weather and without kids! I would love to do it next year with you! It was the mt gretna one that Ruth Dye did.

I have always wanted to do something like this and here is the opportunity...I just have to start working at it.
