Out with the mauve

Our bedroom was mauve. You know the kind of mauve that is grandma's favorite color...anyway it just doesn't go with our bed set. It has been driving me crazy for a long time and then I just said, I am going to paint that tomorrow. We had the color the previous owners used on the top (swiss coffee, really a light beige) so I had the paint and supplies, no excuses. It looks SO much better! I should have taken before and after pictures, but I just didn't. I am not done with the room (curtains, chair, plants...) so I will post a picture when I am (like a year or so). Also, this is just a color holder until I can think about what I want to do with the room. I also painted the toilet room, but the bathroom still remains mauve.

Yesterday I had the wonderful opportunity to speak to poison control. Yes, poison control.

I had just given David some cough medicine and then came down stairs to check on the girls. About 5 minutes later David came and showed me a whole cup of medicine. I kind of panicked. I went upstairs and he had spilled some on the rug and the bottle was about 1/3 full. I had JUST bought that bottle Tuesday so I knew that he had to have drank some. I asked him and he just said that he had a little bit.

Hence, the call to poison control. They said it was nothing to worry about. PHEW!

Later that night i found him helping himself to the fluoride. We had a nice long talk about medicine and that he is NOT allowed to help himself. I guess child proof caps are not David proof!

Not quite what they seem

Last night I was in charge of the joint activity with the YM and YW (about 45 people) and it was CRAZY! We had a very well organized activity and it kind of flopped. Oh well. It was a good idea, but there just wasn't enough group interaction.

Yesterday I went with my sister to Ikea and we were going to let the kids play at the play place while we had lunch. When we got there my sister's little girl was a little too short. She is older than David, but apparently that doesn't matter! Fortunately she was fine with her free ice cream and coloring book. We had a great time even with the discrimination at small land.

After further investigation into the door to door thing we found that the oil change company was the one to blame not the sales team. We got a nice e-mail from the company that said they would exchange it for another company or just refund our money back. Yeah.

Dotctors comment...hum...

I went to the doctor yesterday. He was running behind because of an emergency section. When he finally saw me he made a comment like this...

Has your fibroid ever presented any problems in your other pregnancies? At 20 weeks it was 10cm. Was it that big in your previous pregnancies? How many kids do you have? What is your plan for your family?

And that was about it...

When I asked Aaron why he would say that Aaron said that there is always a risk of bleeding and if they can't get the bleeding to stop they would have to do a hysterectomy. Also, with every pregnancy the fibroid only gets bigger so it could start to compete with the baby for the blood supply. I wish the doctor would have said that and not just Aaron...

Big boy

Today I went to David's check up and he was in the 97th percentile for height and 95th for weight. Where did this boy come from?? Then when the doctor asked if he was eating well I asked him, what do you think??? haha.

The last two days David has been sticking both his fingers in his nose and then blowing them out thinking that it is the funniest thing EVER. Gross. Although I have to admit it is kind of funny.

He also LOVES the big bad wolf story and will tell it at least 5 times a day.

Sledding fun

My friend and I went sledding over Christmas and she posted these pictures on her blog... I thought they were great. David doesn't really like going DOWN the hill, he would rather me pull him UP the hill. I finally got to where I will pull him up half way and then let him go down backwards. He seems to like that, but would still prefer me to pull him up. He will run down the hill and then when someone comes down will beg me to pull him up. I figure it is the only exercise I get! Thanks Andrea for the pictures.

baby oh baby

Unlike my sister I don't like baby belly pictures (of myself of course!). It reminds me how big, awkward and REALLY big I am getting. I know there is a baby in there, but still...

So for all you out there that care to see what my growing belly looks like at 34 weeks here it is...

PS I also have a fibroid in there that is about the size of a small eggplant. When I am not pregnant it is about the size of a pea, but the hormones in pregnancy help it grow bigger and bigger. The doctors are not concerned one bit because it has never effected my pregnancies or my uterus, but it does grow bigger with each pregnancy. If you look my right side is poking out a little farther than the left (my right your left) anyway that is where it is...
