Hike to battle creek falls

Today I took the kids on a hike. I didn't know how it would go, but the hike description was "easy" so we went with it. We had a BLAST! The kids didn't complain one bit and we had fun all the way up the trail and back. Tonight I saw the spots where I missed the sunscreen on Emma...oh poor baby! I used the sunscreen stick, and the top of her head it a bright red spot. There was a spot where the kids could get in and swim. They were fully clothed, but got in. They said that the water was cold, hum snow runoff would be cold. We will definatly do this hike again and now I am brave enough to take them on longer hikes.

car battery miracle

When I was leaving for my trip I had the kids packed in the car we had said our prayer to ask for safe travels and then I tried starting the car. All I heard was click, click, click. Aaron had already left for work and it was 8:30 on Saturday morning. I immediately thought to call my home teacher. He came over and looked at the battery and said that it was 7 years old and was really only a 5 year battery. Someone had left the car door open all night so the battery was dead. He then cleaned the battery connectors and tried to jump the battery and it worked but he said that he would just give me his 1 year old battery from a car that he doesn't really drive. He switched out the batteries and it worked like a charm. I could just imagine if in the middle of the reservation we stopped and I turned off the car and then it didn't work. On the way home we stopped at Rock Point. It is just a gas station/post office/laundry mat all in one building and that is the town! Heavenly Father was watching out for me and gave me my dead battery in my garage instead of the reservation. It was really a miracle.

It's nature and suicide roads

I have been at my parents house for a few days and it has been fun to see the kids play with their cousins and grandparents. I haven't driven from UT to AZ for a long time. I have forgotten a few of the fun things along the way like suicide roads. I really took freeways for granted. Here there is a two lane highway and you have a little "passing" time when the lines are dotted. I forgot how I HATE to pass. On the reservation though the speed limit is 65 and most locals go 50. I don't know why, but they do. The kids were great. You know all you can watch tv and a lot of candy. Emma slept 7 hours, was awake and happy for 1 hour and awake and a little cranky for 1 hour, not bad! Lets hope that tomorrows trip is just a good!

Yesterday we went on a hike with my sister and her family. When Becca was done with her water bottle she made it into a nature bottle where she was collecting nature. She had put flowers and pine cones in when she started to put in a "rock" I said honey don't put that in and she said - It's nature. I told her that it was poop. She threw it down and said EW, I don't want that nature!

First week of summer

Summer is here and I LOVE it! I loved summer as a kid and I still love it. This week sure has been a busy one and I love being busy. We have gone on 3 picnics, gone to the zoo, the girls started gymnastics, Becca learned how to ride a two wheeler and tonight we are going to my sisters for a big bonfire. AH, summer only 11 more weeks, we better use them wisely!
