I have a good friend who LOVES makeup. She likes plucking everyone's eyebrows and giving good makeovers. Well the last time she spontaneously did a makeover on my I wondered why I didn't like make up...
After she did my makeover she said how pretty I look with make up. A few of the kids that were there that day said the same thing...so why was it bothering me...I think I should look pretty without makeup and I don't want something from a bottle or tube to be pretty.
I also want to teach my kids that it is what is on the inside that counts and not what you put on the outside. It was just really bugging me.I know that some people love makeup, but I am not one of them so I hope you think that I am prettier without it (or at least with very little) because what you see is what you get :)

I'm the same exact way. I very, very rarely wear make up at all. It just makes me feel all mucked up.
There was a girl at New Haven who caked on the make up. Her worst punishment was to have the make up taken away from her. She hid behind it and felt like she couldn't live without it. I wasn't surprised at how much prettier she was without it.
However, I don't think the "natural look" is for everyone. I don't think anyone looks good with gobs of makeup, but I do think that it can be done very well (and to people's betterment) in moderation. If it is used to enhance the natural, I say great.
If it's used to try and create a whole different person, it is a little sad in my opinion.
I think you know how I feel on this one. I don't wear very much make-up. In fact I think all I own is a small tube of cover-up and some eyeliner and mascara. I only really use those things once or a twice a week. John doesn't mind eye make-up but he really doesn't like it when I wear much else. Sometimes I think I need to wear more of it because I'm just not as naturally beautiful as you-but I feel really uncomfortable with lots of make-up on. I guess in part it is because my mom has never worn much make-up and to me she is one of the most beautiful people I know-because of who she is. I hope my kids think the same thing of me :)
