Oh, Halloween

Okay. I think I said enough about how I dislike Halloween so I won't even go there. But, for the simplicity of it all I am going to just use their coats (see the Canyon photo) and work with it. For Becca she is going to be Cookie Monster and then David will be Mr Incredible (thanks Aline and Melissa for the coats). We have this duct that we will try to convert into a robot costume for Sarah. Am I cheap, YES, do I like Halloween, NO so am I really just letting my kids enjoy Halloween without me paying for it...YES. I told my sister my plan and she said that she had some costumes I could use. She likes Halloween. My mom always made Halloween fun. I think PA ruined me. I would drive by a house that was all decked out as a grave yard full of disgusting things. Maybe this year will be better and I will be on a road back to liking Halloween.

I didn't know you disliked halloween. I love it. I don't like the graveyard ghouls (though matt does), but I love jack-o-lanterns and costumes. I was thinking of turning Dean into a robot, ninja or a turtle. It's hard thinking of costumes that don't involve something on the head...

My in-laws made it very easy for me this year for at least Bella. She's going to be a pixie... She doesn't really have a choice. Joshua wants to be a Jedi, Maybe I can talk to Darin since she hosted a Jedi party... except that might entail sewing, and we all know I just don't do that :O I'll probably end up going to Target in the end.
I hope Halloween in UT is a better holiday for you :)

I used to hate Halloween too.

Then last year I realized it was every child's dream to dress up.

Then I started thinking about how much I like dressing up too.

We started deciding what we would all be back in August.

I realized I don't like paying money either for costumes, but if I start planning early I can do it for real cheap (and bought two costumes last year on clearance and swap with other moms).

Later I was listening to Avery tell the twins all the exciting things we do for Halloween: trunk or treat, trick or treat, watch a "scary" movie after school, make meringue ghosts and ghouls-on-a-stick during October...I realized we had some fun traditions she was looking forward too.

We are having lots more fun getting ready this year.

Halloween is one of my favorites!

I have some Buzz Lightyear costumes that I bought off Disneyshopping.com on clearance. I am selling them right now on Craig's List, but will sell one to you at the cost I paid. Email me if you're interested. It is Ethan's absolute FAVORITE of all time. He wore it all summer. And it is very high-quality, not Target junk. I also have a red or black Power Ranger costume. CHEAP! Just let me know!

Also, we have costumes coming out our EARS for girls. Come up and pick some out to borrow, if you'd like!! (Seriously!)
