knock knock

This post starts out about 12 years ago when I was a bug girl. I would go door to door trying to sell pest control services. Those were LONG, HOT days. I made more money than I would have staying in Provo, but it was really hard.

This summer right after we moved here someone came knocking on our door selling coupons for oil changes. I had bought some in PA (from a different company) and I had just paid about $40 on an oil change so $60 for 6 oil changes sounded great to me. I bought one for me and Aaron.

Well we finally got around to getting our oil changed (about 2 months overdue) and when we went to the place they said they wouldn't honor them because they were never paid from the promotion company. We tried the phone number on the card, no longer in service. Tried the web site, not up to date. I had paid by check - so now I guess we were just taken! I will be a little more hesitant about door to door sales men!

Oh man. Hate that! I would say that if the oil change place name's on it, they HAVE TO honor it. Wouldn't you agree? That is crazy.

What a Bust!!!!!!
just pretend not to speak english next time someone comes to the door, smile politely and shut the door.
That really stinks, i hope they weren't a bunch of LDS kids selling those.

What a bummer!! That just gives me another reason not to answer the door for a salesperson.

Wow!! That is a crazy story. A few months ago we had a guy come to our house with some cleaning supplies. I decided to buy some because my neighbor bought some then my other neighbor bought some because I bought some. By the end of the day the whole neighborhood had purchased some of the cleaner. Then when we started to use the cleaner it really did not work very well. We all think the door to door sells man had a cleaning product in his bottle then sold us pink water. We all laugh about it.

Matt said the same thing happened to him right after he got home from his mission. The place at least gave him a small discount (like 10%) even though the coupons were a sham.

This is too funny! I used to work for a company that sold oil change, pizza, restaurant and golf tickets.. but ours as far as I knew were ligit (I hope!) hard work... Dread pirate did it too and now he won't even talk to a door to door salesman!! too funny. I still feel bad for them, but maybe I shouldn't!!
