Museum of Natural History

We went to the museum of natural history on Wednesday. I am realizing that we won't be here that much longer and I need to take advantage of all the cool things in the area. We loved the butterfly house, dinosaurs and diamonds.

Secure in his masculinity

Yesterday we had another snow day (yeah!) Sarah was up at the crack of dawn yelling at everyone to get up because it had SNOWED! We were outside by 7:30 and played for a good hour. Later that day we wanted to go to the big hills (in Hershey). Earlier in the morning I noticed that David's coat wasn't really covering his gloves and his wrists were really cold. Becca was wearing another coat so I put Becca's PINK barbie coat on David. It was definitely warmer and he thought he was really cool wearing Becca's coat, but I do have to admit it was a little weird. When we were walking up the hill together a group of teenagers said, "oh what a cute little girl" haha. I didn't correct them. And when I was calling him David I kept getting glances. Why is it okay for a girl to wear blue (we all had on blue coats except David) but boys can't wear pink...

Becca's coat was blue, but it was really furry (kind of like cookie monster...thanks Melissa) anyways, she things that it is from a blue bear. Sarah quickly corrected her and said that there is no such thing as a blue bear and she said then where did the fur on my coat come from...haha.

Don't forget to answer my poll question on the side bar.

Paint, paint and more paint

Even though I have been painting forever I don't know it I am even half way there...but I am getting there.

I really have to count my blessings because tomorrow I am watching my friends kids while she packs up their things and takes them (she is getting a divorce and the husband thinks he is keeping the kids).

I am bringing dinner to a sister from church who was evicted and had really no place to go so the bishop put her up in a hotel until she can get her mortgage papers together to move...hopefully that will go through.

If all I have to deal with is paint, I will take it!

Snow pictures

For some odd reason I wasn't allowed to post pictures on the last post so here are a few.

HAHA I love this picture and it reminded me of yesterday after the snow fun the kids wanted a bath/shower...all together. I had a ton I needed to get done so I said sure (I was trying to bake for our anual fundraiser...) They were in the tub for a good 30-45 minutes and I heard so really loud splashing so I went up there. The water was about an inch from the top and the floor had a good amount sloshing around. Becca was "diving" into the tub to go scuba diving. Oh man. Well at least they had fun and I got some things done (although they were both complaining that their bum hurt today...whoops!)

HAHA I just noticed that David has his tongue sticking out in both shots. Too cute. Oh and his favorite part of the snow is eating it :)

Let it SNOW!

Yeah the day that Sarah has been waiting for finally arrived! She has been waiting for the snow since the last time it snowed in December! We have had a lot of rain and ice, but very little snow. She couldn't wait to go sledding, so here we are in the middle of the snow (it did snow about 4 more inches and we went out the next day and because it was a little icy we slid farther and had a lot more fun! The first day David was very timid, but the second day his favorite place was on Sarah's back as they were both going down head first...am I crazy for letting my 2 year old go down head first on his sisters back!!! This video is from the first day, but gives you a little taste as to how excited Sarah was!

Life is not fair

Sunday after church we were driving home and Becca pops in her lollipop that she got from her teacher and David howled until I gave him his lollipop from a little girl in his class and Sarah cried all the way home because she didn't get anything at church...hence my statement, "well honey life is not fair." I began to tell her that on Thursday she would have about 18 Valentines and some were bound to be filled with candy. This still didn't faze her and she continued to cry until we were home (fortunatly we live about 8 minutes from church).

Later on that evening we were talking about a family motto...I gave the suggestions *we can do hard things * stand a little taller * do your best and Aaron suggested *we love each other. Sarah promptly said I think it should be life is not fair. haha. I told her although that statement was true, it didn't quite qualify for our family motto. haha. boy soon it is going to be a lot more than candy :)
