We just received our "explanation of benefits" for David's quarter incident and this is what the total damage was.
Total charge: $6,319
Allowable amount: $3,750
Our deductible: $75
I don't really get why they charge the first amount and then the insurance company only pays so much, but all I can say is I am SO glad that we DO have insurance! Can you imagine if I had to pay $6,000! I would but man that is a lot of money! The majority of the bill was from the med center.
