Realism sets in

I have been telling everyone that I am going to ditch all of my stuff before moving and just bring what will fit in the car...well...realism set in. when we move we will NOT have any extra cash just laying around to buy new stuff. I guess we will just have to bring our things and slowly replace them...man...I was looking forward to all new furniture...I guess that will just have to wait!

Sad! But I totally understand. I thought we were going to get furniture soon, but it may yet be awhile. Car may take precedence. And baby. And bills.

Yeah, you know it's bad when the mover guy says (as he's unloading the DI couch) "Man, this has been around the block a time or two." And then when I noticed a rip on the back of the couch and wondered out loud if it had been there before the move he responds, "Does it really matter?"

HA! SO, yeah. I feel your pain.

Julie I know exactly how you feel. The thing tat I ddin't count on is ow much money you can spend when you get into a house that you really want to make nice and stay in for a while. Shelves, finishing basement, fences, etc. are all priorities that take huge amounts of cash. Also, that old furniture would be perfect for a basement if nothing else. And who wants to be sleeping on the floor while you are waiting to replace the mattresses, even if it is only for a few days. so if you bring most of it, you can always sell it on craigslist after you have spent as much time as you have needed to find your perfect new furniture without feeling like you have to rush into a purchase just to get SOMETHING in your new house. I am excited for you to get here and to start shopping.
