So here is the final product. I loved the comforter set, but Aaron doesn't really like it...what do you think...I didn't put the bed skirt on or the shams in pillows, but you get the general idea. I am going to Ross, Marshall's and TJ Maxx tomorrow just to see if I like anything else better.

it looks awesome!! now give me my paint back.. :)
I love the smiling nightstand. Everything looks great. As for the bedspread, I think it looks nice. What doesn't he like? The color? Too shiny? The fabric?
If you are looking just for something to look nice while buyers walk through, I think it's good. However, if you're going to keep it for your spread and he doesn't like it, I'd probably keep looking to see if something else would work.
I really like the comforter on the bed, but I'm sure if I had it Jake wouldn't like it either. Jake is only into blues and manly things. But I love it!
oops, sorry to put my other comment in the wrong post. the other thing that would look nice for a walk through would be a whole bunch of pillows on the bed. maybe 2-3 more big ones and maybe some little ones. somehow we both need about 4 pillows each to get comfy, so our problem is that we have too many pillows to arrange them all nicely.
Absolutely love it. What type of wood was it you were painting on. Did you have to sand it first, prime it? What kind of paint did you use? Let me know! Good job anyway...that's a lot of work with three kids running around.
By the way...I miss Lauren...she's hilarious.
Thanks for all the great advice. Aaron didn't like the beautiful pink embroidered (sp I know) flowers. In the pictures it looks more gold than brown, but it is a light brown. I am going out today so hopefully I will find something. Really it is hard! I guess it doesn't help that I don't really like shopping much!
Melissa thanks for the photo tips! the wood was totally fake painted on so I did use primer. I did it when DAvid was sleeping or at night...it really was easy...the kids furniture is next!
Like the spread. Jeff wouldn't like pink, either. I think you spelled embroidered right. ;) Love the black furniture. Makes a huge difference. i'm with mandy on the pillows. That would look good, and if you plump the pillows up and kind of "prop" them against the wall, it makes a kind of a headboard. Fun stuff!
I love it Julie!
