Today we had ward conference and the kids were singing "I am a Child of God." They forgot to put in the program that Becca was the soloist. She was right on and knew most of the words (even if she didn't know the words she pretended...Grandma Grider would be so proud!) I have to confess I got a little teary because it was so pure and from her heart. Plenty of comments were made afterwards. Everyone came up and said how great of a singer Becca is. Funny thing is Sarah has a better ear for music and is more on tune, Becca just belts it out!
As we were in our meeting with the Stake RS Presidency the kids were pretty good. The last 10 minutes they were beginning to get a little restless. The secretary pulled out her pad of paper for Becca to draw. She began drawing a person. The secretary started to smile and said show it to your mom. It apparently was a picture of a boy with all his boy parts. I tried to stifle my laugh and asked her who it was, she looked at me and said, David. I told her that it was a great picture but usually we draw people with clothes on. OH BECCA.
Sarah's school is having a pennies for patients drive for children with leukemia and she is really serious about it. She has asked anyone who comes to the house if they have any pennies they want to donate. She has gone over to our neighbors and asked if they had any pennies. Tonight we went to some friends and had YUMMY dinner. Sarah of course took her jar and was thrilled when the mom emptied her purse and the dad poured in 200 pennies. She was excited to count her money when we came home.
Oh I almost forgot...the other night Aaron and I were sitting at the table with Becca when she said, "you know the Easter Bunny is not real." I said well who leaves out all the eggs? People do. I said, "well, it is fun to pretend." then Aaron said, "You know there will be no candy for those who don't believe in the Easter Bunny." She didn't say anything else...haha.
Later Sarah asked when Easter was. I said that this year it was March 22nd. She was really sad and I asked her why she was down. She said, "I was going to write to the Easter Bunny and ask him to leave me coins in my pennies for patients jar." Too cute. Sarah still believes.

Hilarious! Love the boy parts picture. Kids keep us laughing, don't they?
Yes, yes. This post made me laugh and laugh.
Our first and second children seem to have the same dispositions!
Good stories! At least Becca said it was David. I would be worried if she had said it was someone else.
Well my kids weren't drawing naked pictures during the meetings but they were going crazy too. Ward conference was long with all the meetings...but really great too. Fun post! Kids say such cute things don't they? Tell Sarah I have lots of pennies and to come and get them...please, they are everywhere!
Becca did do a great job singing. Allyson used to be like that then she became so aware of everyone looking at her.
