Am I the grinch?

The RS pres (who I work with in RS) stopped by to bring banana bread and a gift for Christmas. I didn't get her anything...am I the grinch? I made cinnamon rolls for my neighbors, but I didn't get anything for my friends. I had a hard enough time thinking of something for my parents and in-laws. Really, next year should I just go all out...I guess when you give you don't really expect something in return right?

I am also like that in the birthday department. I usually send an e-mail if I remember, but never do I send (or give) a present.

hummm...

Na. I wouldn't sweat it. I never expect things in return from friends or neighbors. I mean, are you offended if your neighbors for whom you made cinnamon rolls don't give you something in return?

no, but it is just cinnamon rolls, not some fancy present...oh well. I guess live and learn and show her that I love her in other ways.

No you are not the grinch! You need to read my most recent post. You are a prime example of giving of your time which I really think is far more valuable. You give it all the time and not just once a year. And,cinnamon rolls take a long time to make and I've had yours and they are yum. Plus, I think if you give expecting something in return it takes all the fun out of suprising the other person and giving something just because you feel like it not because you feel expected to.
