look on the bright side

At the beginning of the house-hunting process I was trying to tell Aaron that we should look in the 300K range. He was convinced that was could find a great house for under 250. Well that time has come and gone...last night we looked at about 65 homes in the 250-315 range and found 18 that fit all our criteria. I am really excited that we will probably be in a nicer home :) I guess we have to look on the brighter side of things right!

If you have nothing to do go to utahrealestate.com and / these numbers

Let me know what you think.

Hey Juls,

I cleaned off my desk and found your stack of real estate papers. Let me know if you want them, and send your address if you do, because I'm way more likely to get it done if I don't have to take the time to look up your address. I'm either way too lazy or way too busy. hmmm....

I will have to check out those houses when I have a few minutes.

Good attitude!! I hope you get a much more awesome house.

It's hard to choose. Each one has drawbacks and pluses.

My initial #1 is probably this one. It's one of the larger homes, the inside looks good, the kitchen is decent sized, and the back yard looks good.

My #2 is a toss up between this and this (though the back yard is not promising), and this. The last was the hardest to really envision. Some of the spaces seemed a bit odd, but I think I'd have to see them in person to know if they'd work.

Which ones are you leaning toward?

Okay here is my 2 cents...

I couldn't get the one that began with 4 to come up so i am going off of all the "7" numbers.

As per pictures I like #758843, 787642, And 791917...

The things I would look into are (in no particular order)

#1-Yard size... we looked at homes here in boise on .16 acres...it gave us about 12 ft out the back door-(787642 has a small yard)A yard is important with young kids...in my opinion!

#2- Kitchen size...my kitchen is not big enough to hold all my cooking stuff. This depends on how much one cooks but I figure since, as Brad tells me, "Anything from Julie Smalley is good" that you may want to consider it!

#3- I love a separate living room and family room and having the family room a great room with the kitchen is even better! That way when someone comes by...they don't see the "lived in area" unless I invite them to it! I also like having my great room along the back of the house with lots of windows so I can see kids in the backyard.

#4- schools... sometimes you can find sites with ratings or if you know any one there who would know.

#5- I would have prefered a room for toys...My kids have their toys in their rooms...It is a chore trying to keep them picked up and toys out of the family room!

Sorry about the long comment! Good Luck!

By looks, my vote goes for #791917
It has a decent size yard and it looks like an end unit = less neighbors. Also it has a basement (gotta love that)
But it all depends on the schools off course. You can check out the ratings on www.greatschools.net, I think Lehi HS was a 3/10... Ughh :(

I totally agree with the separate living room/family room comment. And I think it would be tragic to miss out on a basement. I HATE that TX homes don't have basements.

I like the third one from the top, and the third one from the bottom. I only had a second to look at the photos of the interiors, so I'll just tell ya something I didn't like. I think the last one's kitchen looks like a dungeon. The rest look nice and open!

I'd go for an open kitchen, lots of storage (already built!) and a big yard. Good luck!

I think that the two in Lehi are the showiest--you probably get more house for your money there. But my opinion is always that seeing anything in person is what makes the real decision. The neighborhoods in American Fork might really be worth the extra money. Who knows?

I agree with everything Lisa said.

In our new house, I love the kitchen, wish it had a better family room off it, but am happy with something. Like having a separate living room. REALLY glad we have a playroom. ECSTATIC about our yard on our quiet street.

I probably preferred the Lehi house, the kitchen was nice.
