No we didn't have a fire...
We have been trying to teach Becca about gratitude and prayer. I was asking her about what she was thankful for and she couldn't think of anything. I asked her if our house burned down would you miss it? She said yes. Then I told her that she would miss it because she is grateful for our house. Then I listed several other things that she would miss if they burned in the fire (including mom and dad) and she was not really phased by it. Night time rolls around and she is saying her nightly prayer...still struggling with something that she is thankful for. The next day when I asked her to say the blessing at lunch she said, "Heavenly Father please help us that mom and dad can get the stuff out of the house before the house burns down. Amen" HA HA I guess she just missed the boat on that one.

Maybe have her think of things that make her happy and then tell Heavenly Father thank you for those things...
That's a funny story though.
HAHAHAHAHA!!! That is a funny story. It makes you glad that you have a blog to write it down.
Speaking of fires, Ethan prayed for about 2 years solid in Yakima that our house wouldn't burn down. He was completely obsessed with it.
When they took the old wood shake roof off of our 100 year old farmhouse, they told us there was creosite built up in the chimney, which very easily could have caught the dry wood shingles on fire. yikes.
