new city

Does anyone know anything about: Lake Havasu City, Kingman, or Bullhead City? That is where one of the companies is looking for an ophthalmologist. I saw on the map that it is really close to Needles and all I remember about Needles was when we broke down there when I was a kid and it was HOT!!! I looked Lake Havasu City up on a city compare site and it looks good on the computer (low cost of living, good schools, climate okay).

I lived right next to the Bullhead City/Laughlin border for nearly 4 months! The area is very baren--in fact, there is VERY little man-planted green! The ward there (10 years ago) seemed nice, however. I'm sure there are many positives--especially if the job is offering extra insentives and perks. Lots of scorpions there! Desert is an understatement!

Most of the adult population works to keep the casinos running on the Laughlin/Bullhead strip. It's a little like living on the outskirts of the Vegas strip.

i totally remember breaking down on that trip. mom and dad were making jokes that it was the worst possible place for a break down. nothing to do, ugly, and HOT, HOT, HOT. But I can remember as a kid who was about 12 (could that have been right?) that it was so great to just lay around the pool for a few days and get a really great tan. So I guess it's all in perspective.

I also remember camping at KOA a campground in Lake Havasu City, and it was so hot that none of slept that night. Most miserable camping experience ever. And that's saying something.

But the London Bridge is there. I remember that they have nice paddle boats there. So there's one for the positive side. Not to mention that any place has its pros and cons and is largely what ou make of it.

The people I know who live there love to water ski on the river. But I agree about the heat. Most miserable camping ever. Ever. But if you lived there you would have air conditioning. Kind of like Phoenix except with a great river. And I love the whole London Bridge village, etc.

Kingman is a druggie capitol. I wouldn't live there. Bullhead City is too close to the casinos. But Lake Havasu City is exciting. It is only about 20 years old. It is about 4 hours from Aaron's family and about 5 1/2 from us. the mom

We drove through and stayed in Lake Havasu on our way to CA on our honey moon. It was pretty desert-y. Not very impressive if you ask me...

Though the London Bridge thing was pretty cool.

Hmm... don't know much seems like I once met and talked to someone from Lake Havasu, who said pretty much everywhere you go people are always in their swimsuits. Grocery stores etc.
