Funny Harry Potter

When I was talking to Sarah about Harry Potter she said that her favorite characters were Luna, Hagrid, Pigwiggen and Flure. I thought that was hilarious that those were her favorite characters since they were all a little odd in their own way.

That is so funny. I was trying to figure out who the heck Pigwiggin was. I looked up Harry Potter characters on wikipedia and figured it was probably Ron's owl Pigwidgeon. HA! If so that is hilarious! I did quite like Luna, but Fluer always kind of annoyed me...

I have to say, though, that some of my favorite moments in the last book were with secondary characters (Neville and Mrs. Weasley).

I do agree with you there, this was the book that Neville and Mrs. Weasley shinned. Yes, it is Ron's owl. I think she was more sad about Hedwig (or however you say it) died then Dumbledore.

We are doing book club on HP and I already had one complaint that we were talking about witches...whoops

I personally love Hagrid! And I think the owls are definitely important characters-I was so sad about Hedwig!

I have such a hard time believing people when they are anti-Harry Potter because it's about witches and wizards. I'm hoping that they didn't read the books and are just going off of stereotypes or something. If they've actually read it and still feel like it's wicked, I think they missed the point of the books entirely.

It's just another medium for good vs. evil. It clearly demonstrates that while there can be much power in hate and darkness that love, compassion, and friendship are even more powerful.

And Hagrid was a great character. Not one of my super favorites, but he was great nonetheless.

And I guess I didn't really care a whole lot about the owls since I'm not much of an animal person. I didn't really think twice or even feel sad when Hedwig was killed. Like I admitted earlier, I didn't even remember who Pigwidgeon was. I mean, how many cats did we feed growing up that ended up getting run over on Concho Rd.? Can't get too attached...
